Improving Access to Oral Care and Strengthening Communities
We have the vision for a healthier, happier world. And we are uniquely positioned to achieve that in multiple ways but primarily through our strongest asset—our people. With compassionate team members and supported clinicians across the United States, we have the power and resources to improve access to oral care and strengthen communities worldwide.
How We Serve
Donated Dentistry
For over ten years, we have our annual Smile Generation Serve Day to provide access to oral healthcare in communities across the country. Supported clinicians may choose to donate services throughout the year, including internationally.
Paid Volunteer Time
All team members get eight paid volunteer hours annually. Team members can use paid volunteer time to help their favorite causes. Many decide to use this time to serve with their colleagues at local charities, food banks and shelters.
Countless Ways To Show We Care
There are many opportunities throughout the year for clinicians and team members to donate to worthy causes, either monetarily or donating items. This can include raising money for a fundraiser, or managing collection drives for items such as diapers, toys, clothes, and school supplies.
Smile Generation Serve Day
Supported practices serve their local communities each August by offering a day of donated dentistry to underserved patients. On the same day, non-clinical team members nationwide participate in community events like beach or park clean-ups.
charity: water Fundraiser
We host an annual fundraising campaign amongst our supported practices and support centers for charity: water, an organization working to end the global water crisis. Our team members have raised over $8 million towards access to clean drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people since 2009.
KABOOM! Playground Builds
Each year, we partner with the national non-profit, KABOOM! to turn a vacant lot into a safe place for children to play by building a playground. This popular volunteer opportunity is awarded each year to the recipients of the annual Region of the Year award.
Volunteer Trips to Guatemala
Throughout the year supported clinicians and team members volunteer at the PDS Foundation’s Clinica Dental in Xenacoj, Guatemala, to provide donated dentistry to the community. Since 2010, our volunteers have taken over 40 trips to support international communities.
Special Olympics International
We help athletes understand the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and help them find dental care. We hope to close the gap patients with intellectual disabilities have receiving comprehensive oral healthcare.
Smile for Special Needs
Smile for Special Needs is an annual fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds to support the PDS Foundation Special Needs Dentistry program. This much-needed effort provides advocacy, education and increased access to dental care for people with special needs.
Dental Lifeline Network
Supported clinicians volunteer throughout the year with the Dental Lifeline Network’s Donated Dental Services program. They provide free dental treatment to our country’s most vulnerable, including those with disabilities, medically fragile, and veterans.
Human-I-T
When computers and accessories no longer meet the needs of the business, our IT department donates them to Human-I-T, a nonprofit that creates equitable access to technology and information through the repurposing of devices. In addition to repurposing these items for good, this also prevents them from ending up in a landfill.
Seeking Opportunities for Impact
We are always looking for more opportunities to serve our communities. Please contact us if you have an opportunity you would like to discuss.
